About these tools

What each number means and where the estimates come from.

What is BMI?
Body Mass Index is a screening tool calculated from height and weight. It's the primary threshold providers use to assess GLP-1 candidacy — a BMI of 27 or higher is the standard clinical range.
Where do the estimates come from?
The weight loss percentages are based on average outcomes from the STEP-1 trial (semaglutide, −14.9%, Wilding et al. 2021 NEJM) and the SURMOUNT-1 trial (tirzepatide, −22.5%, Jastreboff et al. 2022 NEJM).
BMI is a starting point, not a verdict
BMI doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, or fat distribution. A licensed provider reviews your complete health picture — no calculator determines your eligibility.
Provider always makes the final call
